Krazie Fishie's Theory of Fishing proven WRONG!!!

Remember yesterday's post? See Theory of a Crazy Fisherman. To prove that my theory was right, I went down to Pulau Indah in Port Klang to fish. I went down there to fish alone. After loading my fishing gears into my car, I started my drive down to Pulau Indah with much anticipation. Maybe this time without Mr. DHL around, I could get actually land a fish.

I arrived at about 9.00pm and after purchasing my baits I proceeded to drive around the pond to look for an ideal spot. I chose a spot that looked quite promising at that time.

About 30 minutes after casting my line into the water, the winds started to pick up. I looked liked it was gonna rain. I gave a silent prayer and waited for the fish to strike my bait.

One hour passed no action.

Second hour came and saw some actions. Fish took my bait but didn't manage to hook the fish properly. Happened twice during the second hour of fishing.

Third hour of fishing no action.

Fourth hour of fishing. Started to get frustrated. I was cursing the pond and whatever fish that were in it. Finally had enough and decided to go back home. EMPTY HANDED...!!!!!!!

So... The theory that I mentioned earlier is wrong. Have to think of a new theory. Hehehehe... Oh ya... We (Mr. DHL and myself) are going fishing tomorrow. Going down to Bagan Lalang. Going to Kelong Nazri. Supposed to be a good place to do some sea fishing. Hopefully that crack cousin of mine is right this time.

Okie folks... Stay tuned for the next adventures of Krazie Fishie and Mr. DHL.

Theory of a Crazy Fisherman

My hands are itching to wet my lines. Sadly, my regular fishing kaki Mr. DHL would not be available until the end of this week. The reason for this is because he has an exam coming up on Saturday and he has a lot of studying and revision to do. Being the kind soul that I am, I've decided not to bother him until he finishes his exams.
I am thinking of trying out a new fishing theory that I have. Well, the theory goes something like this.

Whenever Mr. DHL and myself go fishing together, most of the time (about 95.9%) we end up with NO fish at all. But then, whenever Mr. DHL, myself, Jeishen and May go fishing together, Mr. DHL and myself will be getting hits after hits. (Sorry Jeishen, proven fact). And then when Mr. DHL goes fishing by himself, he will USUALLY (about 99.9%) come back with excuses like
  • I didn't hook the fish properly.
  • The fish managed to break my line,
  • My 50 pound line putus, so it must have been a big fish.
  • The pond owner cheated, he didn't put any fish in the pond.
  • I didn't have enough beer to fish the whole night so I had to pack up early.
  • I used the wrong bait.
  • The mosquitoes we distracting me.
  • My rod too long for this pond.
  • And the list goes on.

I haven't tried going fishing on my own yet. Maybe when I am fishing alone my luck would change. Maybe without Mr. DHL I could be getting hits after hits. And to prove my theory right, I am going out fishing in Port Klang tonight. See how my luck goes. If not tonight then definitely tomorrow night I will be going. The weather is rather bad at the moment so if things go as planned tonight, tomorrow night I will be landing the 5 kilo Siakap or Kerapu.

Wish me luck folks.........

Krazie Fishie : How big was it?

Funny topic eh... Here is the story behind it. Me and my regular fishing kaki Mr. DHL, went down to Port Klang to fish. It was a pay pond which stocked up on saltwater fishes. From the pictures that was posted at the pay pond management office, it looked VERY promising. VERY...VERY...VERY promising indeed.
MR. DHL has been there 4 times and I have been there twice. I'm sure you all are wondering how many did we manage to get. Are you ready?

*Drumroll**Drumroll**Drumroll**Drumroll**Drumroll*
NOTHING...!!!! TAK ADE...!!!! KOSONG...!!!! ELLEK...!!!! MEI YOW...!!!! ZERO...!!!! NIL...!!!! ZILCH...!!!! NAUGHT...!!!!

According to the guys who are maintaining the pond, we should know where to find the lubuk where the fishes are supposedly chilling... Entah betul ker tidak. (Loosely translated as Dunno true or not).

However the place does look promising. I guess it is just a matter of time before we finally strike it big in that pond. I have a gut feeling about it. I'm sure about it. We did manage to get a few hook up but sadly we didn't really hook the fish properly. The few hook ups that we got were rather strong. You can feel the fish on the other end trying to make a run for it. Only if we could have landed the fish. What an article this could have been. I wonder how we could have possibly missed the fish. I reckon the whole bait would have been in it's mouth. How on earth did it manage to unhook itself. Hrrrmmm......

Anyway, we are planning for another trip this weekend. Hopefully this time everything turns out well enough. Hrrmm.... Till then.... Stay tuned.....

Passion or plain STUPID?

Hear ye... hear ye.... Do I have a story for you. Kinda funny too.
Last weekend, one of my regular fishing kaki (I shall not drop names, you know who you are. Here is a clue though , DHL), called me up and asked me to join him fishing in Lukut. Since I was tied down with work and I was feeling kinda tired, I told him to carry on. I did try to tell him not to go fishing in Lukut. For your information, when I say fishing in Lukut, it means kelong fishing in Lukut. Since he would be going fishing alone, I thought it wasn't a good idea to be fishing from the kelong. Ponds, lake or rivers would be fine but not kelong. What if anything happens while you are out fishing? Ok..ok... let's carry on with the story.

He starting fishing at about 6.00pm I guess. He did call me to BRAG about how he was all alone in the kelong and that he had the whole kelong by himself. He started to imagine the fishes that he would be catching and the fun that he will be having. He was trying to make me jealous.

The first sign of trouble came at about 7.30pm I think. He called me up to complain that the kelong had only one light functioning. All the other lights were not working. Oh...ohhwww..... smells like trouble....
Then at about 10.30pm I called him up to check on him and to check on his catch. So far according to him he caught a swordfish (todak) and some strange fish. He said the fishes were not biting. Something wrong perhaps.....??

At about 2.00am I called him up once again just to check on him. After all he is my DEAR cousin and my fishing kaki, so it is my responsibility to check on him. I though he already left the kelong because he said that the boatman would be picking him up at about 12.00am. Guess what..!!! He was still stuck on the kelong. He started to shout and swear in the phone. He was saying that the boatman was supposed to comes at 1.00am and he has been trying to call the boatman since 1.00am. No answer. Sleeping I guess. Tried calling about 100 times according to him. (Fishermen are the greatest liars, after LAWYERS). I was laughing over the phone. There was nothing much that I could do except sympathizes with him. Isk..isk..isk... KESIAN...!!!!
I didn't wanna talk long with him on the phone, he wanted to save his battery.

Shortly after hanging up the phone, I received a messgae form him.... Guess what...!!! The generator had died.. no petrol... hahahhahaha.....

I think he finally went back at about 3.30am. Pity him...

Moral of the story : Don't be an IDIOT. Safety first.

Fishermans Philosophy

A sure way to get a bite on a slow day is:
  1. Talk about changing spots.
  2. Prepare another rod while one is out.
  3. Lay your rod down unsecured.
  4. Go for a sandwich.
  5. Start to pull the boat anchor.
  6. Crack open your first beer.
  7. Crack open your last beer.
  8. Take notice of the chick on a passing boat, bank or beach.
  9. Watch others fishing.
  10. Start reeling in your lines at going home time.
  11. Give your fishing rod to a female companion or child to hold.
  12. When your landing net is out of reach.
  13. When you have cast your line over an obstruction.
  14. When you line has drifted into impossible weeds.
  15. When you turn to look at the sunrise or sunset.
  16. Decide that you need to take a leak.
