Welcome to Sabah

In the last few postings, I've mentioned that my fishing equipments were on their way to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. I have made prior arrangement to bring them over earlier. Good news...!!! They arrived safe and sound (and in 1 piece) yesterday morning. I didn't bring down all by rods and reels. Just brought down those that I usually use. Here are some photos of my equipments that arrived.

I will be assembling my rod rack later. I plan to sand paper the rod rack so that the finishing would be smoother and I also plan to repaint the rod rack. I will be do a separate posting on the rod rack. I will also include the dimensions of the rod rack so that any DIY enthusiast out there can do the the same rack.

Upcoming DIY Projects

I have 2 DIY projects in mind at the moment. I plan to work on them as soon as my stuffs arrive from KL. Below are the projects that I plan to work on.

  • Rod Rack
  • Line Spooler / Despooler
Rod Rack
I already have a rod rack which was purchased a long long time ago. (Read : Rod Rack). The rack was in KL collecting dust. I have deassembled it for ease of transport. During the deassembling process, I found out that the rack was quite easy to make. I have decided to blog about the assembly process once the rack arrives. I will be sand papering the rack and repaint the rack back to make it more presentable. I will also be including the dimensions should any of you wish to make it yourself.

Line Spooler / Despooler
I used to own a line spooler / despooler when I was still in KL. (Read : Daiichi Line Spooler). I sold it off to a fellow fisho when I moved to Sabah. I do not plan to buy another line spooler. Instead, I will be making my own line spooler / despooler. I will based the design on the previous line spooler that I had. I also did some research over the internet on various line winder design. I shall be blogging more on the line winder once I get started on the line spooler / despooler. I have a few different designs in mind, and I will be make some minor adjustments as I go along making the line spooler / despooler.

Layout Change

Good day fishos... I'm sure some of you regular visitors (if I still have any) may have noticed the changes I made to this blog. I've decided to change the layout and template of this blog. The last template was about 4 years old and quite graphic heavy. It takes sometime to load the whole page due to the many images in the background.

This new template is more more pleasing to the eye. Not much clutter and the link positions are well placed. I have also updated my Chat Box. The previous box that I used has already expired. Do drop me a line on my chatbox and we can chat over there. If you have a fishing blog/site, please do not hesitate to request for link exchange. I don't mind putting up you link on my page.

I have also removed some dead links. Most of the dead links are no longer accessible or has not been updated for a long time. I will add more links as I browse more fishing sites on the net.

Please do drop me a comment on this new layout. I'd love to hear your feedbacks.

** Gear update : My tackle is on its way to Sabah. Hopefully my one piece rods arrives in one piece. *fingers crossed*

Revival

Its been 3 years since I last posted something in this blog. The last posting I made was a catch report that I help to post for Navin. For the past 3 years, I have somewhat lost touch with the latest updates on fishing. I have no idea whatsoever on the latest gears to hit our market. Guess I will be having a lot of catching up to do.

To those who may not already know, I am currently based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. I have been here for the past 4 years. And during that period of time, I have NEVER once fished. Amazing isn't it. Sabah has one of the best fishing spots in Malaysia and not once did I take up the opportunity to do any fishing. There are several reasons on why I didn't do any fishing since I moved to Sabah. One of them being that all my fishing gears are still back in KL. However, I recently transported my reels down to KK. My rods and other fishing stuffs should be arriving next week (fingers crossed). Another reason (excuse) is the lack of fishing kaki. All my fishing kaki are based in West Malaysia, and I don't know anyone here that fishes. I did some checks on Facebook, and somehow managed to get hold of some fishing enthusiast here in KK. Hopefully, once my gears arrive, I'll be able to join them fishing.

Anyway, stay tuned for more updates. I do have a topics in mind that I intend to blog. I have also decided to change the blog template for this site. Hopefully this new template is much more pleasing to the eye. The sidebars also need to be revamped. Still haven't found the time (and inspiration) to do them. I hope to get them done by this weekend. I will be removing some dead links and adding some new links as well. So do stay tuned. Until then....

Tight Lines... And Screaming Reels...!!!!!
